Busta Rhymes Gets Detained
Busta Rhymes has been detained at a London airport after being denied entry into the UK over “unresolved convictions” in the US. Rhymes, who arrived in London from Amsterdam today, was set to perform at the Orange RockCorps charity concert tomorrow, where fans performed community service in exchange for a ticket to the show.
Rhymes’ lawyer secured an injunction which blocked him from being sent back to Amsterdam by immigration officials. He’s now being held at the airport while officials try to figure out whether or not to let him into the country.
A UK Border Agency spokeswoman said,
We are selective about who we let into the UK and will oppose the entry to the UK of people who have been found guilty of serious criminal offences abroad.
Stephen Green, co-founder of RockCorps isn’t happy about this turn of events. He says,
He has the necessary work-permit and has been in the country twice already this year, so we’re a little puzzled that a question mark is now being placed over his ability to enter the country to perform to volunteers.
Ludacris is now on his way over to the UK to perform in Rhymes’ place if he isn’t released in time.
Update: Busta Rhymes has reportedly now been granted entry into the UK.
