Nick Nolte is reportedly suffering from smoke inhalation after his Malibu house caught fire around 11:30 A.M. today. Firefighters found the star trying to put the blaze out on his own, and stepped in to help him.

The electrical fire, which started in Nolte’s bedroom, caused about $1.5 million in damage. Nolte says that he’ll be seeking medical care for his injuries.

Apparently they had little elves calculating the cost of the damages as the fire was being put out.
