Former alcoholic/drug addict Nick Carter spewed his advice on taking the path to a healthier life by opening up about his experiences with drinking and drugs on the Ellen Degeneres show this morning.

The now 29-year-old Backstreet Boy who was arrested for several DUIs, continued his destructive lifestyle for years until he discovered the magical key to success:

I just started replacing drinking and the parties…with healthier things like sports, video games.

Nick’s new life as a World of Warcraft addict has put a slight damper on his interactions with the opposit sex, but that doesn’t seem to bother him much.  Nick tells Ellen that his singular goal in life now is to work hard to be a better person.
