Lauren Conrad’s first book in her series, L.A. Candy is spending its second week on the New York Times Best Sellers List.

The new fictional series follows a spoiled rich kid who shoots into fame when she gets approached by a producer who wants to shoot a reality show about her life - much like the story of someone else we know.

Judging by the reviews, people are apparently surprised that the book actually doesn’t suck. Lauren released the following statement about her (ghostwriter’s) great achievement:

If someone said to me five years ago when this all started that I would one day make the New York Times Best Seller list I wouldn’t have believed it. I am so honored that it is now a reality.

Believe me, the rest of the world can’t believe it either.
