Billy Mays Used Cocaine Days Before His Death
The Hillsborough County Fla. medical examiner released a statement today regarding the autopsy of OxiClean ad man Billy Mays, which indicated that Billy most likely used cocaine on the days leading up to his death. The statement read:
From the presence of metabolites of cocaine and the absence of cocaine itself, it was concluded that Mr. Mays used cocaine in the few days prior to his death but not immediately prior to death.
Cocaine can raise the arterial blood pressure, directly cause thickening of the wall of the left ventricle of the heart, and accelerate the formation of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries.
Billy’s family has since slammed the coroner for making “speculative conclusions” about the death. They’re maintaining that Billy died of heart disease and a heart attack after suffering from hypertension due to his hectic schedule. They’re reportedly looking into getting a second evaluation done on the autopsy results.
