Jim Carroll Dies
Musician, poet, and author Jim Carroll (real name James Dennis Carroll) died in his New York home from a heart attack last Friday, September 11.
Jim was best known for writing his memoir The Basketball Diaries, which was made into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio in 1995. He formed the punk band The Jim Carroll Band in 1978, and had gone on to work with musicians like Lou Reed, Blue Oyster cult, The Doors, and Rancid.
Jim was found dead at his desk working in his Manhattan home. He was 60 years old.
