Shaquille O’Neal’s wife Shaunie flew from Florida over to L.A. yesterday with her kids to file for legal separation from her husband of 6 years. She reportedly intends to eventually file for divorce.

According to TMZ, Shaunie likely filed in L.A., rather than in Florida, because spouses generally get more spousal support in California. In her papers, Shaunie claimed that she had been a resident of California for exactly one day at the time of filing.

Shaq and Shaunie have four kids together. Shaunie is also fighting for child support and legal physical custody of all the kids.
