Pete Doherty Maybe Killed A Man Once
Pete Doherty is facing possible charges for killing a man in a 2006 incident where he and a few friends may have pushed a man named Mark Blanco off of a first-floor balcony after a fight.
Two police probes over the last few years failed to determine Mark’s exact cause of death, so his family hired Prof Richard Wassersug, an expert in neurobiology, to start an independent investigation. Prof Wassersug told reporters yesterday,
Given the nature of his injuries, the two most likely explanations are that he was backed into the railing and pushed over. Or that he was not conscious and was dropped over the railing.
The initial suspicion was that Mark had committed suicide, but the family is now looking into accident or manslaughter as other possible causes of death.

You’re right Steve, the police did initially write this off as suicide but without any form of decent investigation. They didn’t even question the people at the party. However since then one of the witnesses has said that Doherty and his friends took Mark outside onto the balcony. Another witness said they heard swearing and then a scream. Mark was found on the pavement minutes later.
The family are looking for a decent investigation to be carried out. That may include unlawful killing or even manslaughter charges. That will depend on the intent I guess, as determined by that investigation.
