Kiefer Sutherland Caught Up In Cattle Scam
A man named Michael Wayne Carr has just been charged with 12 felonies, including grand theft and embezzlement for stealing $869,000 from Kiefer Sutherland, after convincing the actor to invest in a cattle business.
According to the San Joaquin County D.A., Michael told Kiefer that his investment would be used to buy cattle from Mexico for sale in the U.S. Kiefer not only threw down his money into a ranch in Montana, he also took part in a few rodeo competitions to fully immerse himself in his investment. Michael however, never purchased the cattle, and instead ran off with the money.
Kiefer wasn’t the only one that got burned in the scam. Another couple also invested $177,000 and never saw a return.
