The L.A. County Coroner has told Whitney Houston’s family that the singer died from Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.

Whitney’s aunt, Mary Jones discovered her body in a bathtub over the weekend. Sources say Mary had laid out a dress for Whitney to wear that night on her bed, then left for a half hour while Whitney went to take a bath. When she didn’t hear anything from Whitney, she went to check on her and found her in the tub. She administered CPR, but was unable to revive her.

Whitney’s mother has arranged to have the singer’s body flown back to Atlanta today.

In other Whitney news, her daughter, Bobbi Kristina has been in and out of the hospital all weekend. Sources say that she has been inconsolable, and they believe she might try to take her own life. They are considering rehab as a possible option.
