The executive director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Bruce Davis has issued an apology to the friends and family members of Farrah Fawcett who were upset to learn that Farrah had been left out of the award show’s “in memoriam” segment. Bruce’s apology read:

There’s nothing you can say to people, particularly to family members, within a day or two of the show that helps at all. They tend to be surprised and hurt, and we understand that and we’re sorry for it.

He added however that since Farrah was better known for her TV work, the Emmys was a more fitting show for her tribute.

You may (or may not) have noticed that Farrah Fawcett did not get a death montage at the Oscars last night. Well according to the Academy, that wasn’t a mistake. Their spokesperson told AP this morning,

Every year it’s an unfortunate reality that we can’t include everybody.

Bea Arthur, who died this year as well, was also left out of the program.

Adam Lambert is P.O’ed that his performance at the AMAs last night was edited for the show’s west coast broadcast. He told Access Hollywood today that his crotch-grab, simulated blow job, and gay kiss were all just displays of “artistic freedom”, and that ABC discriminated against him for cutting out some of the dirtier parts of his performance after complaints started coming in from the east coast. He said,

You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person. I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either.

There’s a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I’m a male, and I’ll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem.

According to Rolling Stone, the kiss was a spontaneous act that hadn’t been cleared with the producers ahead of time.

Yesterday, Beyonce finally opened her mouth to let out a few words on that whole Kanye West VMA outburst incident. She told O: The Oprah Magazine,

Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award. And when they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’

But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment — and I didn’t have to make an acceptance speech.

Taylor Swift walked out on an interview at a Tampa Bay radio station this morning after the DJ relentlessly pressed her to elaborate on last week’s Kanye West VMA incident.

After politely asking the DJ three times to change the subject, Taylor got up and left without saying another word. They should invite Kanye on. We hear he’s got more to say.

You know it’s bad when even Joe Jackson has some criticisms about your character. The pimpiest of all stage dads joined in on the Kanye West shunning party by releasing a statement today about the Taylor Swift VMA moment. Joe said,

I don’t know what he was doing, he jumped up on stage and snatched that microphone out of that poor girl’s hand. They should blackball him out of show business for that. He just leapt up there, that was bad.

I had just gotten through speaking to him, he was introducing me to his girlfriend, and then three minutes later he jumped up on stage. And people booed Kanye all night.

Joe was spotted enjoying a chug from Kanye West’s bottle of Hennessy shortly before Kanye’s act of stupidity.

Kelly Clarkson jumped in on the Kanye West bashfest today by throwing in some awesomely low blows, verbally bitch-slapping his father and dead mother. Kelly ranted on her blog,

Dear Kanye,

What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??

I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.

On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!
