According to police, a suspect was arrested after breaking into Jason Priestley’s home on Monday night.
Nothing was reported missing from Jason’s property, but a number of other homes in his Toluca Lake neighborhood were burglarized. The suspect was taken into custody, and police were able to recover all of the stolen goods.
Actor Rip Torn was arrested in Salisbury, CT around 9:40 PM last night, after he broke into a bank while drunk and armed with a loaded gun.
Rip reportedly set off the alarm at the Lichfield Bancorp building when he broke in through a window. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief. Rip is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on February 1st.
When Susan Boyle returned to her home in Scotland after recording her charity single for Haiti last night, she reportedly discovered an intruder lurking around inside her house.
Police detained the unidentified man, and released him a short while later. No word yet on what he was doing inside of Susan’s house.
Rachel Lee, who was allegedly involved in the break-ins at the homes of Audrina Patridge, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and a number of other celebs, turned herself in to the LAPD last night.
She was charged with five felonies for residential burglary and receiving stolen property, and released on $150,000 bail.
Usher filed a report with the Atlanta police department yesterday, claiming that a burglar broke into his GMC Yukon while he was shopping at an AT&T store on December 14th, and stole over $1 million worth of jewelry, $50,000 worth of furs, a computer with exclusive music tracks on it, and several other items out of the back of the vehicle.
An AT&T employee claiming to be a witness is not talking to reporters out of fear of retaliation.
Hailey Glassman’s lawyer Stephanie Ovadia released a statement earlier today, calling Jon Gosselin’s lawyer “irresponsible” for making statements about her going to jail before she was even arrested. Stephanie said,
For an attorney to go out there and say someone’s going to jail when they’re not even arrested – that’s just irresponsible. That is the most ludicrous, ridiculous, unnecessary statement I have ever in my life heard.
All the police have done so far is fact-finding. They’re trying to figure out what occurred here – if anything – other than two people who were living together breaking up.
She added that Hailey had taken some items from Jon’s apartment, but that Jon “told her the apartment would be padlocked because he had not been paying rent, and she should go there and take whatever she wanted”.
Jon Gosselin’s greasy lawyer Mark Heller released a statement yesterday, pointing the finger at Hailey Glassman for breaking into Jon’s apartment, stealing a bunch of stuff, and hacking the place apart with a butcher knife.
Mark told reporters that the police have video evidence of the break-in from the building’s security tapes, and that Hailey was definitely responsible for the incident. He added,
Jon feels like he was raped.
Jon will be filing charges soon.
Hailey Glassman, who was questioned over the weekend by the NYPD for allegedly destroying Jon Gosselin’s apartment and leaving a signed note calling him a cheater, is now accusing Jon of organizing the whole thing as some sort of publicity stunt.
No charges have yet been filed, and according to Hailey’s lawyer, she is not currently being considered a suspect.
Rapper Nelly’s 9,000 sq. ft. St. Louis, Missouri home was reportedly broken into earlier this morning.
According to St. Louis County police, several people who were at the home reported the incident to police. When the cops arrived however, the suspect had escaped.
He’s being described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, sporting a mustache and glasses.
No one was hurt and nothing was reported missing.
Someone reportedly broke into Nicky Hilton’s house at some point yesterday, and stole her laptop and a very expensive Lalique crystal.
The break-in was discovered by one of Nicky’s employees who was working at the house. The burglars who stole about $2 million worth of stuff from Nicky’s sister Paris are not currently suspects in this case.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s surrogate, Michelle Ross took the stand against Ohio police officers, Barry Carpenter and Chad Dojack yesterday. The cops are being accused of illegally entering Michelle’s home while she was pregnant with SJP’s twins, and stealing some documents and other items from the property.
Michelle testified today that she went into hiding and sent her own son to live with relatives after the press learned of her address while she was pregnant. When she returned home after the birth, she noticed that tax files, ultrasound photos, and a cast of her stomach were all missing. A paparazzo also contacted her around the same time, and told her that two police officers had tried to sell some of her things to him.
Barry Carpenter maintained that he only entered the home to check on things when he noticed the basement door was open. He insisted that he didn’t take anything from the property.
Paris Hilton’s 18-year-old brother Barron reportedly got Nicholas Prugo kicked out of West Hollywood club, Voyeur on Saturday night.
Nick allegedly broke into Paris’ home a few months ago, and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and clothes.
According to sources, Barron spotted Nicholas in the club, confirmed his identity with a security guard, and then asked the guard to kick the kid out. Security promptly complied.
After making famous enemies and alienating good friends, celebrity burglar/dirty rat Nick Prugo has been put under protective custody.
According to his lawyer, Nick and his family have been fielding death threats ever since he ratted his friends out for allegedly breaking into at least a half a dozen celebrity homes. The lawyer said,
Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the protection of Nick Prugo and his family.
No word yet on how much that protection is costing tax payers.
Cops issued a warrant in the case of the Hollywood celebrity burglary ring, for the arrest of Jonathan Ajar (AKA Jonnie Dangerous) last week, but were unable to track down their suspect. Well now, reporter Mark Ebner has found Jonnie, and even convinced him to speak on video about the case (above).
Jonnie claimed on camera he wasn’t really dangerous. He also noted that he had made plans to turn himself in to the LAPD at some point today.
Turns out, Jonathan Ajar (AKA Jonnie Dangerous), one of those kids who’s currently on the hook for breaking into a plethora of celebrity homes, has a pretty impressive criminal record to add his latest alleged crime to.
The 27-year-old had previously been charged with 10 felonies in Wyoming, including several weapon’s charges, and charges for possession for sale of cocaine, oxycodone, shrooms, ecstasy, Clonazepam, and Xanax. As part of his plea deal for one of those cases, he had a charge for intent to sell about 35 pounds of marijuana dropped. Johnny spent around a year behind bars. He was also convicted of DUI earlier this year.
In other celebrity burglary news, cops finally released the results of their executed search warrant on the homes of the accused. Some of the things recovered by cops included loose diamonds in a bag, necklaces, watches, rings, a number of hand bags, cell phones, shoes, jeans, perfume, a laptop, sunglasses, makeup, a Mexican passport, and a Washington State driver’s license. Cops also confiscated a mini pharmacy of illegal drugs.
