Tiger Woods has confirmed rumors that he will be making his golf comeback at the Masters next month. He released a statement saying,

The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta.

The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it’s been a while since I last played.

I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment. Although I’m returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.

When I finally got into a position to think about competitive golf again, it became apparent to me that the Masters would be the earliest I could play.

David Beckham tore his Achilles’ Tendon during an AC Milan game against Chievo Verona yesterday. He was seen crying in the locker room after being taken off the field.

This injury makes it highly unlikely that he’ll be able to play in the World Cup with the English team this year - which would have made him the first English player to participate in the World Cup four times.

He’s currently on his way to Finland for treatment.

According to a source close to Tiger Woods’ family, the cheating golfer is planning to make his return to golf at the Tavistock Cup on March 22 and 23.

The event pits golfers from the Isleworth Golf and Country Club against those at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club.

Tiger is also reportedly planning to prepare himself for The Masters.

According to a source with Radar Online, Tiger Woods is currently gearing himself up to return to the PGA tour in the Spring, after he completes his 6-week treatment for sexually compulsive behavior in Mississippi.

He’s reportedly hoping to gain back some public and corporate sponsor support with his rehab attempt.

No word yet however, on whether Tiger will be ready in time to play the Masters on April 5.

The PGA voted last week to ignore Tiger Woods’ recent cheating scandals, and award him with the PGA Player of the Year award (for golf).

According to PGA Commissioner, Timothy Finchem, “The recognition by [his] peers is one of the highest compliments a PGA Tour member can receive”.

The organization cited Tiger’s six tournament wins this year as the reason for their decision.

If there’s one man who can keep himself going both on and off the green, it’s Tiger Woods, I guess. The AP named him their Top Athlete of the Decade today, saying that the golfer, who pulled in 64 tournament wins over the last 10 years, was a clear winner.

Tiger raked in 56 of the 142 votes cast by members of the AP, and most of those votes were made after his cheating scandal hit the media.

Lance Armstrong, Roger Federer, Michael Phelps, and Tom Brady were some of the athletes that Tiger beat out for the win.

Jennifer Aniston has teamed up with her Yoga instructor Mandy Ingber, to produce a workout DVD called Yogalosphy.

Mandy has been working out with Jennifer up to five days a week, and the two are supposedly really good friends.

The video will feature an intro by Jennifer, and she’ll also be hosting the DVD’s launch party this Thursday at the Sunset Towers in L.A.

Tiger Woods has pulled out of the 2009 Chevron World Challenge, which would have been his last tournament of the year.

He released the following statement on his website announcing the news:

I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week. I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.

Tiger cited his injuries from this past weekend’s car accident as the reason for his cancellation. Greg McLaughlin, the president and CEO of the Tiger Woods Foundation added,

We support Tiger’s decision and are confident the strong field and excellent course will provide an exciting week of competition at the Chevron World Challenge.

Tiger plans to be back on his game next year.

Michael Lohan, who’s been showing Jon Gosselin the famewhore ropes for the past few months, is now trying to rope Jon into doing some celebrity boxing.

In case you missed it, Michael is currently part of the Celebrity Boxing Federation, where high-profile matches help to increase media exposure raise money for charity.

According to Michael, the chairman of the organization asked him to help get Jon into the ring.

He reportedly spent his Sunday afternoon at the Gosselin home, meeting Jon’s kids, and trying to convince him to join the league.

No word yet on whether or not Jon had decided to participate.

According to Radar Online, after doing Larry King Live last week, Jon Gosselin took a trip over to a bank, where he withdrew more than $200,000 from a joint bank account that he shared with his soon-to-be ex-wife Kate. Just to be nice, Jon left about $1,000 in the account that his family routinely used to pay the bills.

Jon then took a little time out of ruining his family’s future to attend a Dodgers game on Saturday with his new BFF + lawyer, Mark Heller.

Mark was also spotted over the weekend, taking Jon to The Ivy in Beverly Hills for some paparazzi photos lunch.

A lawyer on Kate’s side has since sent a letter to Jon, demanding that he return the money to the account asap. Kate is set to appear in court tomorrow to legally file papers against Jon for stealing their money. According to several sources, Jon violated his divorce agreement which forbade him from touching the money in that particular account.

Kendra Wilkinson’s husband, wide receiver Hank Baskett was dropped by the Philadelphia Eagles today to make room on the team’s roster for dog torturer quarterback Michael Vick.

Michael will begin practicing with his team tomorrow, but because of his little dog fighting incident, he won’t be allowed to play in a game until Week 3.

If you thought Kanye West’s book with blank pages was a bad idea, wait till you hear about Justin Timberlake’s latest prospective project. The New York Observer is reporting that the singer is currently looking for an editor to team up with him to write a book about golf.

The memoir being proposed by a literary agent will reportedly be about Justin’s experiences playing the sport with various people that he knows.

Justin has a good excuse for wanting to write a book on such a random topic.  He started playing the sport with his dad when he was 10.
