Dennis Quaid’s brother Randy and sister-in-law Evi were both no-shows in court for their fraud hearing this morning. This was the second date that they bailed on - the judge rescheduled the original hearing last week after they failed to make an appearance.

The pair are currently facing felony charges for conspiracy, burglary, and defrauding an innkeeper. The Santa Barbara D.A. is now planning to have them extradited from Texas, and brought back to California to face charges.

Dennis Quaid Almost Gets Busted For DUI

dennis_quaid

Somehow, it’s news that someone didn’t really get arrested for something, he just almost did. Dennis Quaid was reportedly about to drive his car after a night of drinking in West Hollywood last night, when a cop pulled up alongside him, and asked him to reconsider.

The cop got Dennis to get out of the vehicle with his wife. The paparazzi at the scene added to the show by yelling things like “you don’t want a DUI, you don’t want to end up like Mel Gibson!”

Dennis and the wife took a cab home instead.

Dennis Quaid’s Brother Wanted By Cops

Dennis Quaid’s brother Randy and his wife Evi are reportedly wanted by cops for bailing on the San Ysidro Ranch hotel after running a bill up into the thousands of dollars.

Sources at the LAPD told TMZ that they had issued a warrant against the pair for felony burglary and felony defrauding an innkeeper. The couple apparently had a history of staying at expensive hotels and not paying the bill, leading authorities to believe that the couple had no intention of paying when they rented the room at San Ysidro Ranch.

No arrests have yet been made.

Update: After a brief struggle, both Randy and Evi have now been arrested.

Update 2: Randy and Evi each posted $20,000 bail just moments ago. They’re now loose on the streets.

Dennis Quaid Settles Baby Drugging Lawsuit

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly have finally settled their lawsuit against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the 2007 accidental overdose of their newborn twins Thomas and Zoe.

The family will be getting $750,000 from the hospital after extensive negotiation.

The twins were poisoned after being given 1,000 times the standard dose of the blood thinner, Heparin last year.  Both babies have fully recovered from the accident.

The Quaids have also filed a lawsuit with the drug company that produces Heparin, accusing them of negligence in packaging.  Terms of that settlement have not yet been reached.
