Neal Horsley, an anti-abortion activist was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, after he began threatening Elton John online and in person - by standing outside of Elton’s Atlanta apartment building with a sign which read, “Elton John Must Die” (see video above). The incident was prompted by Elton’s recent Parade interview where he suggested that Jesus Christ was gay.

Neal was charged on Wednesday with making terrorist threats, criminal defamation and using the Internet to disseminate threats. He is currently being held in the Fulton County jail in Atlanta.

This is Neal’s second brush with the law. He was previously charged in 2002 for threatening abortion doctors online. According to several sources, Neal is currently making plans to run for the governor of Georgia.

In Elton John’s most recent interview, he opened up about his thoughts on a number of random issues, including the all important topic of Jesus’ sexual orientation. According to Elton,

I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead.

Elton John has been released from a London hospital, after successfully completing treatment for a severe case of E. coli, which he contracted last week.

The singer was forced to cancel several concerts over the past few days, but will be back on stage to perform with Billy Joel on November 14.

Elton John was forced to cancel three upcoming shows over serious cases of E.coli infection and the flu, which he somehow contracted recently.

He announced the news on his website over the weekend, and according to his rep, his doctors ordered him to postpone the concerts with Billy Joel, to give himself time to recover. Elton, who is currently being treated in a London hospital, is expected to be well enough to take the stage again in the near future.

Marina, the mother of the Ukrainian kid that Elton John was trying to adopt told reporters yesterday that there was no way she would ever give up her son, Lev.

Now it looks like the 15-month-old baby’s father Sergey is in agreement - he’s also refusing to sign off on an adoption, but he is open to letting Elton pay to move him to Britain with his son… and buy him a shoe store.

The HIV positive, unemployed, convicted murderer told reporters,

I know Elton is a rich man. Maybe he could help Marina and me and the boys get a flat so we could be a family again. That would be ideal. And if Elton could buy me a shoe shop, that would be great.

Sergey’s mom Yulia agreed. She said,

I don’t want Elton to adopt the children. But it would be OK if he was the boys’ guardian. Lev is so sweet, he took Elton’s heart away. He could give them a good life. But he must look after the boys’ parents too and keep them together as a family. Elton could be godfather.

She also added that Sergey’s criminal record shouldn’t keep Elton from taking him in. According to her, Sergey only killed a 14-year-old girl years ago because “He went for a walk with a pretty girl. She accidentally stood on his foot and he grabbed her by the neck and threw her in a lake. He ran away and she died”.

The HIV-positive mother of the baby boy that Elton John had been fighting to adopt spoke out over the weekend, stating that there was no way that she would ever allow Elton and his partner David Furnish to take her child out of the country.

25-year-old Marina is the mother of 15-month-old Lev, and another older son, who were both removed from her home after she became an alcoholic and lost the ability to care for them. The boys are currently living in a Ukrainian orphanage. Marina told reporters,

I will not give my baby to Elton John for any money. I understand Elton’s feelings. Lev is a very sunny and cheerful boy. It’s impossible not to love him.

But I’m going to overcome my problems. I so much want my babies back.

Elton and David had been told last month that their ages and sexual orientations were against the country’s adoption laws. Nevertheless, the couple had been working to try to convince the Ukrainian government to make an exception and allow them to take both Lev and his older brother home. They have also been casually looking into an African adoption after traveling over there for Elton’s Aids foundation.

Looks like Elton John and David Furnish weren’t able to get past the Family, Youth, and Sports Minster in Ukraine. The couple who were interested in asking president Viktor Yushchenko to make an exception to allow them to adopt a baby boy from an orphanage, have just been denied the chance by senior official, Yuriy Pavlenko.

Yuriy confirmed today that Elton and David are too old and gay to adopt the 14-month-old baby boy, and that the country wouldn’t be making an exception for them because of their celebrity status. Yuriy said,

Elton John will not be able to adopt a Ukrainian child and if he files that request we will unfortunately deny it. The law is the same for everybody: for a president, for a minister, for Elton John.

We wonder if they’ll be pulling a Madonna and throwing a public hissy fit until they get their way.

Elton John announced the other day that at the age of 62, he was finally ready to pull a Madonna and break some adoption rules to bring home a less-fortunate child with his husband David Furnish.

Elton made his decision after he fell in love with a 14-month-old baby boy named Lev who he met while he and David were visiting a Ukrainian orphanage. Elton told Reuters yesterday,

David and I have always talked about adoption. David always wanted to adopt a child and I always said, ‘No’, because I am 62 and I think because of the traveling I do and the life I have, maybe it wouldn’t be fair for the child.

But having seen Lev today, I would love to adopt him. I don’t know how we do that but he has stolen my heart. And he has stolen David’s heart and it would be wonderful if we can have a home. I’ve changed my mind today.

David and Elton will most-likely face a lengthy legal battle to adopt Lev. Not only are they gay, they’re also old. They’re currently trying to convince Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko to make an exception for them. If their adoption is granted, the pair will look into taking in Lev’s brother as well.

The two were spotted kissing in front of Hudson’s apartment, and she recently told Cosmo, “look, we’re still basically living together! We’ve figured it out. I mean, obviously nothing’s perfect, but I could never look at [our divorce] as a mistake. If anything, it’s the best thing that ever happened to us.”

5. A source at Petit Tresor was apparently lying when she told ABC News that Jamie Lynn Spears sent Bristol Palin a baby gift. Lynne Spears personally told E! News that the rumors were untrue.

6. Lily Allen has finally spoken up about her drunken feud with Elton John at the GQ awards earlier this week. She says she was just joking around after drinking the free champagne, nothing wrong with that.

Lily Allen is saying that she thinks someone spiked her drink earlier this year at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.  Apparently she says she got really wasted that night, made an ass of herself, and doesn’t remember anything that happened.  She says,

I woke up in my bed at 8am and felt totally fine. So I Googled myself, and then I saw the pictures. It was awful.  I can’t believe I got into that state. It leads me to believe somebody put something in my drink because it’s totally not in my repertoire to do something like that.

Yeah, and I’m assuming she’s going to say the same thing about her little spat with Elton John a couple days ago at the GQ Men of the Year awards too.
