Janet Jackson and her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri have called it quits, according to Jermaine’s friends. A source told reporters today that the reason for their split had something to do with the fact that producer Jermaine had recently begun working with Janet on her music. The source said,

You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things sepa­rate.

Their differing personalities are also being blamed for their break-up. Janet was reportedly shy and private throughout their relationship, while Jermaine was outgoing and open. Add to that, the fact that Janet had recently picked up some very heavy baggage - taking on the mommy role to her brother Michael’s three kids.

Janet and Jermaine first began dating about seven years ago, two years after Janet’s divorce from her husband Rene Elizondo.

The National Enquirer is reporting that Janet Jackson and her boyfriend of four years, producer Jermaine Dupri have broken up. Sources claim that the couple are no longer living together, and that the break-up had a lot to do with Janet’s failing music career.

Shots were reportedly fired at a party hosted by hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri in Atlanta over the weekend after some dude got pissed when he was accidentally double-charged by security guards for admission into the VIP section of the club.

A security guard was shot in the arm, but is expected to be fine. The party was attended by celebs like Diddy, Nelly and Usher. They were all supposedly unharmed.

Dupri said,

I’m sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party. I’m happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues.
