Peter Kowalczyk, the 29-year-old London man accused of punching Leona Lewis in the head during a book signing, has just been ruled unfit to appear in court by a judge at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
He is currently sectioned in psychiatric hold under the Mental Health Act. Another court date for the case has been set for December 14.
A 29-year-old man named Peter Kowalczyk was charged earlier today with assault for punching Leona Lewis at a book signing yesterday.
He’s currently being held for psychiatric evaluation under the Mental Health Act.
Peter is due back in court on October26 to face his charges.
After getting punched in the face by a fan, Leona Lewis has canceled the rest of he book tour. Her rep announced the news this morning saying,
Leona was due to go to Germany today for promo but that has now been cancelled. Leona is obviously shocked after yesterday but is OK.
Leona is expected to make her major UK show show rehearsals, which are scheduled for next week.
Leona Lewis was rushed to a hospital today, after a man, who had waited patiently in line at her book signing, punched her in the face when it was his turn.
Five bodyguards contained the attacker, and Leona was taken to the emergency room, where she was treated for injuries. The man was arrested by police shortly after.
A friend of Leona’s described the attack to reporters today, saying,
Leona was utterly shocked and appalled as it came out of nowhere. The man queued up patiently, then as soon as she signed his book he smashed her in the face. He didn’t say anything to her and she is at a loss as to why anyone would do such an evil thing.
She is devastated as she comes from quite a humble background and loves meeting her fans. She was doing a three-hour signing and planned to sign hundreds of books.
Leona’s rep released a statement today, apologizing to the fans who were unable to have their books signed due to the incident.
Britney Spears didn’t flip out this time for her OK! Magazine interview.
In it, she talks about how she actually likes to cook for her boys and clean her house. She also mentions that she wants her kids to have a normal childhood, not in the public eye.
Britney goes on to say some normal things about her reaction to her little sis, Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy. Britney says,
I was shocked a little bit. She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling. I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie.
Her dad Jamie Spears also speaks in the interview about Britney’s comeback. He says,
God has a way of taking something bad and turning it into something good . . . If this hadn’t happened, I would never have been able to get back with my daughter and have this relationship I have with these two little boys.
She also mentions that her new album comes out in 6-9 months, and she’s currently listening to Rihanna, Duffy, Madonna, and Leona Lewis.
