Mariah Carey was just a little drunk when she showed up on stage to accept her Breakthrough Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival last night. Check it out, above.
Being domestically abused is so in these days, so Mariah Carey decided to jump on it, and open up about her ordeal with ex-husband Tommy Mottola on Larry King Live the other day. She said,
Abuse has several categories. Emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in — if your situation is similar to one of the situations I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on. For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.
Mariah also revealed that Tommy kept her locked in their mansion for most of their marriage. They separated in 1997 after about four years of marriage. Mariah’s now with Nick Cannon who doesn’t abuse her.
The Mariah Carey/Eminem war just got interesting.
Even though Mariah denied that her latest vid had anything to do with him, Eminem hit back at her by releasing a song called The Warning which included the lyrics:

Mariah Carey took to her Twitter last night to explain away her less-than-stellar performance at Michael Jackson’s memorial service. Apparently, seeing the casket was the thing that did her in. According to Mariah,
Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me.
Caskets can be so distracting.

More details have been leaking in about Michael Jackson’s memorial service, which is set to take place at the L.A. Staples Center tomorrow.
Yesterday we confirmed that Jennifer Hudson would be performing at the event. Now, reports are saying that Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, and Usher will also make appearances. According to festival organizers, there will be a few surprise performers, someone will be performing Man in the Mirror, and Mariah Carey will sing “I’ll Be There”. The all-star line-up will come together at the end of the show to perform Michael’s 1992 hit, Heal the World.
The service will be broadcast on NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and E!.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated their first anniversary together with 50 of their closest friends last night at the Palms Casino Resort’s Palms Place.
The couple and their guests noshed on surf and turf, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes before moving the party over to Moon Nightclub where Nick surprised Mariah with a sappy video documenting their first year together. At that point, Mariah broke down in tears, the pair killed a few hundred birds by opening up the roof of the nightclub and releasing 1,000 balloons into the night, and guests toasted the animal murdering couple to a long and happy life together.
The night ended with a very expensive dessert of Duncan Hines yellow cake, and a public pronouncement of love from Nick to his old lady wife, Mariah.
Mariah Carey, who’s currently living with husband Nick Cannon in NYC is making a big move to LA. She has reportedly put in a $125 million offer on the modest Holmby Hills home pictured above.

Mariah Carey has just announced today that her upcoming tour has been canceled. Her costume designers and dancers were all told yesterday to go home, only we don’t think it’s the economy that caused those pink slips.

Oh no! Mariah Carey was seen leaving a gyno’s office in LA this week, holding something that looked like a sonogram picture. Carey’s people are still denying the rumors.
