Randy and Evi Quaid’s former private investigator is reportedly planning to file a restraining order against the couple in court on Wednesday.
Becky Altringer, who worked for the couple until they had a falling out in June, is accusing the dynamic duo of harassing her and making violent threats against her over the phone. She’s hoping that a judge will bar the couple from making any sort of contact with her in the future.
Randy and Evi Quaid, who were released from a Texas jail on bail yesterday, actually made a scheduled appearance in a Santa Barbara courtroom today. They had previously skipped out on 5 other scheduled hearings.
Both Randy and Evi pleaded not guilty to felony charges of defrauding an innkeeper for allegedly failing to pay a $10,000 hotel bill at the San Ysidro Ranch.

According to the mayor of Marfa, Texas (where Randy and Evi were arrested), The couple posted bail soon after being taken into custody. They were seen packing up their car and driving out of town upon their release. No word yet on where they’re heading, or whether they plan to show up for their next court hearing.

The couple, who were originally on the hook for defrauding an innkeeper, failed to show up to multiple court hearings regarding the case. Evi was arrested first on Saturday, and Randy on Sunday. Both were taken into custody from their Marfa, Texas home.

The couple posted a total of $40,000 today, and will be required to appear in court to face charges on December 15. If they fail to show for that date, a bounty hunter will be sent out to get them.

Last week, the Santa Barbara prosecutor announced that he was filing extradition papers to have the couple forcibly moved over for their hearing from their home in Texas. Those papers could take up to four weeks to go through.
We mentioned a few days ago that the Santa Barbara prosecutor threatened to extradite Randy and Evi Quaid from Texas after they failed to show up for two hearings in a row. Well it turns out, they never did go through with that extradition, and instead, just rescheduled their hearing date again - for today. The Quaids skipped out on that one as well however, and now, the prosecutor is really getting those extradition papers ready.
The papers will take about four weeks to process.

Earlier today, Evi releaed a statement claiming that the Presidio County cop took a bribe from her former business manager Mickey Segal and Stagehands Union worker Bob Boyett to set up a case against her and her husband. She insisted that Mickey and Bob had been out to get her and Randy ever since the couple were booted from the Actors’ Equity Association after Randy allegedly physically and verbally abused the cast of his Broadway play, Lone Star Love.
Evi went even crazier about an hour ago, when she pulled up outside of Mayor Dan Dunlap’s office in a truck that read, “Deputy James Davis takes payments… call & make offers”. Sources at the LAPD told TMZ that they had issued a warrant against the pair for felony burglary and felony defrauding an innkeeper. The couple apparently had a history of staying at expensive hotels and not paying the bill, leading authorities to believe that the couple had no intention of paying when they rented the room at San Ysidro Ranch.
No arrests have yet been made.
Update: After a brief struggle, both Randy and Evi have now been arrested.
Update 2: Randy and Evi each posted $20,000 bail just moments ago. They’re now loose on the streets.
