Shayne Lamas pleaded guilty in court yesterday to a “wet reckless” (a not-so-serious alcohol-related reckless driving charge), which allowed her to avoid the possible jail time connected with a traditional DUI.
She was sentenced to 3 years probation, and ordered to pay a few penalties and a $300 fine. She was also ordered to take an alcohol ed program, and to pay a visit to the morgue - to scare her from ever driving drunk again in the future.
Shayne Lamas was arrested for DUI early this morning in Venice, California. She then released her own statement to E! just hours after the arrest, saying,
Early Saturday morning, after consuming one drink, I willingly drove through a mandatory check point on my way home with complete confidence of passing. However, the breathalyzer indicated that I was over the legal limit of blood alcohol content and was arrested onsite.
I take full responsibility for my lack of judgment. I have always strived to be a role model for my friends, family and fans and have never nor will ever condone drinking and driving. I apologize for all those I have disappointed, including myself.
You might be asking “who the eff is Shayne Lamas, and what does she do?” Well apparently, Shayne is on that TV show Leave It To Lamas - which stars her family, which is in desperate need of some publicity, which explains the DUI and subsequent statement.
Shayne was booked and released shortly after. She’s due to appear in court on December 9 to face the misdemeanor charge.
