Even though the terms of Jon Gosselin’s settlement with TLC were kept confidential, we do now know that Jon won’t be going back on TV to continue shooting Jon & Kate Plus 8.
The network reportedly no longer wants anything to do with Jon, but they will consider airing some Jon & Kate Plus 8 specials that feature previously-shot footage.
TLC and Jon Gosselin have finally come to some sort of agreement and settled their lawsuits against one another.
TLC originally sued Jon for violating his contract with them last year by pulling his children from their TV show, and bad mouthing the network to the media. Jon counter sued shortly after, accusing the network of ruining his reputation.
Several weeks ago, rumors came up that Jon had offered to allow his children to appear on the network again in exchange for a clean legal slate. The exact terms of the settlement however, were not disclosed.
A Maryland judge put a preliminary injunction in place yesterday, ordering Jon Gosselin to stop doing any more paid media appearances without TLC’s permission.
The network’s rep released a statement confirming the order, saying,
The Court has validated our view that Mr. Gosselin has a valid, binding contract and that he has breached it repeatedly … we look forward to the next phase of the litigation, which is to pursue our claim for damages resulting from Mr. Gosselin’s numerous breaches.
Jon Gosselin was reportedly a no-show at his TLC hearing in a Maryland courthouse today.
The hearing went ahead as scheduled, with the judge announcing that Jon’s lawyers had no plans to call witnesses to the stand.
During the hearing, TLC asked the judge to stop Jon from making any more paid appearances because those appearances violated an exclusive contract that he had signed with the network. They specifically cited Jon’s recent pool party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, calling the event “embarrassing” and “inconsistent with the image of our show”.
Jon’s lawyer insisted today that Jon had a right to earn a living, and that they would “vigorously defend against this baseless action”.
TLC has just filed a lawsuit against Jon Gosselin for halting production of Jon & Kate Plus 8 for reasons other than the welfare of his children.
Jon previously claimed that he was concerned about having his kids on camera while he and ex, Kate were going through a divorce. TLC called BS on those claims this morning though, saying that Jon never mentioned anything about stopping production until the day they changed the show name to Kate Plus 8. At that point, Jon and his lawyer went to them, demanding that they release him from the “exclusivity provisions” of his contract within the hour. According to TLC, Jon told them that if he wasn’t released, he would pull his kids from the show under the claim that it was harmful for them to continue filming.
TLC is suing Jon for breech of contract.
The Associated Press is reporting that Jon and Kate Gosselin and TLC are currently being investigated by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor for violating child labor laws after receiving a complaint concerning the welfare of the Gosselin twins and sextuplets.
TLC released a statement in response to the investigation, insisting that they have been fully compliant with all labor laws. In the past, the network has claimed that Jon and Kate Plus 8 shoots only two days per week for no more than two hours per day.
After the show debuted this season to record numbers, TLC ordered 40 episodes of the show to be shot this year.

Jon was reportedly spotted on April 18, getting drunk at a bar near his family’s $1.3 million home in Wernersville Pennsylvania with a mystery woman while his wife was in Washington, promoting her new book Eight Little Faces.
At about 2 AM, Jon left the club, and was overheard yelling to the woman, “Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!” Jon, who then noticed the paparazzi outside snapping pictures, yelled at the woman to “get in the car!” The pair promptly sped away with the headlights off.
Jon later released a statement saying,
I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car. Yes, I have female friends — but that is all she is. I’m not going to end my friendships just because I’m on TV.
According to several sources at the club, however, Jon, who was not wearing his wedding band that night, was barely able to walk when he left out the back door.
